Review of Two Sociology Studies

One provides an account of the experiences of several volunteers entering mental hospitals in the early 1970s; the other studies couples' television viewing behavior, specifically as it involves use of the remote control. Both of these studies are revealing, Rosenhan's (1973) for its disturbing honesty; Walker's (1996) for its confirmation of conventional wisdom.
