[ send me this report ]
A 5 page paper critiquing a longitudinal study of children born of unwanted pregnancies. David, Dytrych and Matejcek (2003) report on a large and long-term study designed to assess the consequences of being born unwanted, expressed in terms of sound mental health in adulthood. The authors identified 220 children born between 1961 and 1963 in Prague, Czech Republic. All of these study children were born of women who had sought and been denied an abortion at least twice for the pregnancy that produced the study subject. D.H. Lawrence: Sons and Lovers
[ send me this report ]
( 5 pp.) Thesis: Sons and Lovers, is an excellent title for D.H. Lawrence's 1913 story of an unaware mother's emotional enmeshment with her youngest son. This is the story of a family with four children: three sons and one daughter. We see how the family inter-relates to each other, particularly a mother to her sons. We are also shown how interdependency becomes an entangled web between an unaware mother and her youngest son. We will look at those relationships in light of our thesis, how a mother chooses to give more value to her needs than that of her son.

Several researchers have sought to explain aspects of love from various approaches, and all of the world’s leading religions give love a place of honor in individuals’ lives. The purpose here is to review some of the research that has been done in this area and to reflect on findings and personal opinion. Sound and informative research on love exists, but virtually none of it succeeds in gaining any clearer perspective on the “big picture.” From both research and personal perspectives, love remains an enigma, one that deserves greater and more detailed attention. The paper discusses Eros, Ludus, Storge, Pragma, Mania and Agape types of love. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
