Clifford Odets’ “Waiting for Lefty” and Rebecca Harding Davis’s “Life in the Iron Mills”

I want you to hear this story.” Odets repeatedly tells the audience watching “Waiting for Lefty” that the “little guy” can be and often is the central character in a tragic situation.
